Difference between Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis have clear differences. Osteoarthritis refers to the rupture, loss, and fissuring of joint cartilage caused by degeneration in old age, which can lead to knee pain, and in severe cases, deformity. Rheumatoid arthritis, however, refers to the destruction of joint cartilage caused by rheumatism, which includes the proliferation of synovium, swelling, migratory pain, morning stiffness, among other symptoms. Diagnosis can be confirmed through laboratory tests, such as the rheumatoid factor test, making it quite easy to distinguish between the two.

Can osteoporosis be cured?
Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by a decrease in bone density and loss of bone mass, which increases the brittleness of bones and may lead to fractures. It can be primary or secondary, with primary osteoporosis commonly seen in postmenopausal women. Such osteoporosis is a loss of bone mass that occurs with physiological changes in the body. It can only be prevented, not cured, and complications caused by osteoporosis, such as fractures and pain, can only be alleviated, not completely cured. Therefore, early prevention is necessary.

Is a comminuted fracture of the tibia serious?
A comminuted fracture of the tibia is defined as a fracture where there are three or more fracture fragments, termed a comminuted fracture. The severity of a comminuted fracture of the tibia depends on the location of the fracture. If the fracture is located at the epiphyseal end, where there is abundant blood supply, healing may occur more quickly. However, if the fracture is accompanied by surrounding soft tissue injuries, the healing process can be very slow. If the fracture occurs in the middle to distal third of the bone, where the blood supply is more limited, healing can be slower compared to simple transverse fractures, and the prognosis may vary depending on the choice of treatment method.

How should tenosynovitis be treated?
Tendon sheath inflammation refers to chronic aseptic inflammation caused by excessive and frequent flexing and extending motions during labor, where the tendon is subjected to repeated friction and compression within the fibrous tunnel of the tendon sheath. This results in local exudation, swelling, and fibrosis, leading to a narrowing of the sheath canal and hindering normal tendon movements. For mild symptoms of tendon sheath inflammation, treatment can include rest, immobilization, physical therapy, and topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications, as well as anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving plasters. If symptoms do not improve, local injection therapy may be employed. If symptoms persist and conservative treatment is ineffective, surgical removal of the narrowed tendon sheath may be necessary. Post-fracture sequelae
After a fracture, the potential sequelae depend on the location of the fracture and the chosen treatment method. For example, fractures involving joint surfaces can lead to traumatic arthritis after treatment. Similarly, femur fractures can lead to the formation of lower limb thrombosis after surgery and the fracture itself. Some fractures near joints might also affect the range of joint motion after treatment. Therefore, the type of sequelae after treating a fracture depends on both the location of the fracture and the treatment approach chosen.

What department should I go to for plantar fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis refers to the aseptic inflammatory reaction of the plantar fascia caused by prolonged exercise or activity, which results in pain and restricted movement. If plantar fasciitis occurs, it is recommended to seek treatment in the orthopedics department of a formal hospital. Based on the symptoms, an appropriate treatment method should be chosen. Initially, it is important to rest and avoid excessive activities. Additionally, the application of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can help relieve symptoms and reduce inflammation, facilitating the restoration of walking and functional abilities.

How to deal with tenosynovitis?
Tendinitis refers to the condition where the tendon sheath around a tendon becomes inflamed due to chronic strain, resulting in a sterile inflammation that affects the movement of the tendon sheath and causes localized pain symptoms. If the symptoms of tendinitis are mild, one can opt for topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and pay attention to rest to alleviate the symptoms. If the symptoms are severe and cause restricted movement, surgery is recommended to clean and remove the severely affected sheath to relieve symptoms.

What should I do if I have a fracture?
When a fracture occurs, temporary immobilization is needed to alleviate local pain and prevent further fractures during transfer. If there is an open wound, it should be bandaged and isolated from the external environment to prevent infection. If there are injuries to vital organs, life-saving measures should be administered immediately, followed by treatment of the fracture. Therefore, appropriate immobilization is necessary when a fracture occurs.

The difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis refers to the damage of joint cartilage due to degeneration in old age, which can cause symptoms such as joint pain, limited mobility, and deformity. Rheumatoid arthritis, on the other hand, involves the destruction of joint cartilage solely due to rheumatic diseases, particularly accompanied by abnormal proliferation of the synovium, causing pain and local heating, and resulting in limited joint mobility. Rheumatic diseases feature migrating joint pain, which worsens when exposed to cold. Additionally, diagnostic indicators such as positive rheumatoid factor will show increased levels, thus making it relatively easy to distinguish between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Can osteoarthritis exercise?
Osteoarthritis often occurs due to the degeneration associated with aging, causing damage to the essential cartilage, leading to symptoms such as joint pain and deformities during movement. In the case of osteoarthritis, it is crucial to keep warm and rest, avoid exposure to cold, and minimize knee-joint load-bearing activities such as mountain climbing and stair climbing. Instead, choosing activities like Tai Chi and swimming, which cause less joint wear, can help alleviate symptoms and prevent accelerated cartilage damage.
