How to restore the color of vulvar leukoplakia
The treatment of vulvar lichen sclerosus is generally quite challenging. However, symptoms can be alleviated by some symptomatic treatments. Firstly, it is important to keep the affected area clean and dry. Attention should be paid to avoid spicy and allergenic foods, and not to wash the vulva with irritating drugs or soaps. Wearing non-breathable synthetic underwear should be avoided. Additionally, topical corticosteroid medications can be used to control itching. However, it takes a long time for the affected skin to show significant improvement or return to normal. If medication treatment is not sustainable or effective, local physical therapy can be recommended. This involves removing abnormal epithelial tissues locally and destroying nerve endings in the dermis, thus interrupting the vicious cycle caused by itching and scratching. For patients who do not respond to medication or physical therapy, or those with atypical hyperplasia or potential malignant changes, surgical treatment can be recommended. However, surgery is generally considered a last resort due to the possibility of long-term recurrence and significant trauma, affecting both the appearance and function of the vulva.
How much does an ectopic pregnancy cost approximately?
The treatment of ectopic pregnancy is divided into three types: cord treatment and conservative drug treatment, open abdominal surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. For cord treatment, no medication is needed; regular monitoring of ultrasound and HCG levels until they return to normal is sufficient, and generally, this incurs no excessive costs. For conservative drug treatment, the main medications used are mifepristone combined with methotrexate, and it can also be combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment. These medications are very affordable. For the treatment of ectopic pregnancies, we still recommend hospitalization. The cost of conservative drug treatment is about 2,000 to 3,000 yuan. Of course, depending on the specific conditions of the patient, if multiple treatment courses are needed, the cost may increase, but the increase is relatively small, and it also depends on the individual. Regarding surgical treatment, open abdominal surgery is generally around 8,000 yuan according to the standards of a third-grade A-level city hospital. Laparoscopic surgery, slightly more expensive by about 1,000 to 2,000 yuan, is controlled at around 10,000 yuan. Of course, these are costs according to our own hospital’s standards, and our hospital is also a third-grade A-level city hospital. This is generally the situation.
Causes of Female Vulvar Folliculitis
The occurrence of vulvar folliculitis in women has many causes. The main reason might be related to wearing overly tight underwear and skinny jeans, as well as garments made from non-breathable materials. It could also be related to hot weather conditions where women's skin tends to be more moist and prone to sweating. Another possible cause is poor genital hygiene, which is a likely factor. Additionally, it could be associated with sexual partners, hence it is necessary to identify the specific causes and investigate them one by one.
Is surgery necessary for cervical polyps?
Cervical polyps are a clinical manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Polyps can originate from the lips of the cervix or within the cervical canal, and generally vary in size. They are usually connected to the cervix by a small stalk. Cervical polyps rarely become malignant, with a very low chance of malignancy. However, if left untreated, the polyp can gradually increase in size, causing bleeding during intercourse, and even bleeding without contact. Additionally, there is the risk of malignancy, so once detected, it is recommended to remove them and definitely send them for pathological examination to rule out any possibility of malignancy.
Post-surgical diet for uterine fibroids
Before passing gas after a myomectomy, we must avoid foods that produce gas, such as milk and soy milk, and only consume small amounts of water and clear soup. Once the patient has passed gas, they can be advised to eat easily digestible foods, such as congee and noodles. After the patient has had a bowel movement, they can resume a normal diet, but it should be light and avoid irritating foods, such as those high in oil, salt, and spices, as well as some stimulating beverages. After discharge, it is recommended that the patient eat more vegetables and high-fiber fruits, and avoid gas-producing foods, which typically include legumes, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and so on.
How is cervical polyp surgery performed?
Cervical polyp removal surgery is a very common minor procedure in gynecology. This surgery involves minimal trauma, short operation time, and quick postoperative recovery. Generally, we conduct this surgery in the minor operation room of the gynecological outpatient clinic, and it does not require hospitalization; patients can go home right after the removal. During the procedure, we can use a biopsy forceps or a small curved forceps to directly clamp the pedicle of the polyp and remove it. Ideally, the procedure should be done under a colposcope. When using a colposcope, applying acetic acid or Lugol's solution helps in observing the appearance of the cervical polyp, facilitating differentiation from other conditions, such as Nabothian cysts which can easily be confused with cervical polyps.
Do ovarian cysts hurt?
This ovarian cyst is generally a benign tumor change. Normally, ovarian cysts do not show any symptoms. However, as the cyst grows larger, it may cause an increase in abdominal size and bloating. It may also press on the gastrointestinal tract and the bladder, leading to corresponding urinary and gastrointestinal symptoms. Additionally, changes in body position may lead to acute abdomen, such as ovarian cysts, torsion of the stalk, rupture of ovarian cysts, and other conditions.
