Can you smoke with tracheitis?
Tracheitis is primarily caused by the decrease in our body's resistance, followed by infections from various external pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, manifesting mainly with symptoms of cough, phlegm, fever, and wheezing. Since tobacco can produce a large amount of smoke, which is an irritant to the trachea, it can induce symptoms like cough, phlegm, and even chest tightness and wheezing in patients. Thus, for patients suffering from tracheitis, smoking might exacerbate their condition, worsening the existing illness. Therefore, we advise patients with tracheitis to avoid smoking and to stay in environments with fresh, clean air as such conditions are beneficial for recovery.
The difference between interstitial pneumonia and pneumonia
Interstitial pneumonia, also known as diffuse pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, mainly refers to a disease characterized by the replacement of the lung interstitium with some invisible fibrous tissues, leading to lung atrophy and difficulty breathing as the main manifestations. The pathological site of pneumonia is mainly in the alveoli and lung parenchyma, and patients mainly show symptoms such as coughing, expectoration, and fever, generally not experiencing difficulty breathing. Additionally, interstitial pneumonia and pneumonia have typical and distinct changes in imaging. Through imaging, it is basically possible to differentiate almost completely between interstitial pneumonia and pneumonia without the need for any special techniques.
How to treat tracheitis?
Tracheitis is primarily caused by a decline in a person's immune system, followed by infection by external microorganisms, resulting in inflammation within the airway. The main symptoms presented by patients are coughing, expectoration, fever, wheezing, etc. Generally speaking, this disease is considered an infectious disease and requires anti-infection treatment. Which one causes body aches, bacterial cold or viral cold?
Bacterial colds and viral colds are named after the different microorganisms that cause the symptoms of colds. The upper respiratory tract includes the nose, pharynx, and larynx. Usually, when the body's resistance decreases or one is overly fatigued, it is very easy to be infected by external pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. However, when bacteria infect the human body, most of the symptoms are mainly concentrated in the nasopharyngeal area and do not spread throughout the body. On the other hand, viral colds are different. After infecting the human body, in addition to causing respiratory symptoms, viral colds also cause general discomfort throughout the body, such as headaches, limb weakness, muscle soreness, joint pain, and can even lead to abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and other symptoms. It is called influenza, which is a symptom that appears after a viral infection. In most cases, it is self-limiting, meaning it can be treated with or without medication. Why should one lie flat for acute pulmonary embolism?
